Central Heating System Cleansers

Professional pre-commissioning cleansers for removing sludge, flux, installation debris and other contamination from central heating systems.

Calmag heating system cleansers are designed for use by professional installers on new and existing systems, helping prepare the system for commissioning and ongoing protection.

CalCleanser

Chemical Inhibitor

CalCleanser pre-commissioning treatment is
specially formulated for use with new and existing
central heating systems.

CalCleanser makes removing and neutralising
sludge, flux and installation debris, quicker and
easier. Scale, silt, light rust, debris, oils, grease,
flocculating magnetite sludges and particulate
residues are also effectively removed.

  • Suitable for use with all components, including
    aluminium and other metals,
  • CalCleanser requires
    no neutralisation.
  • Cleans and neutralises sludge,
flux, scale, silt, light rust, debris, oils and grease from new and old systems, as well as flocculating magnetite sludge and particulate residues, to facilitate their easy removal.
Available as 500ml, 1L or 25L bottles

Sludge & Flux Remover

Available as 500ml or 1L Bottles

The sludge and flux remover cleans and
neutralises flux residues debris, oil and grease
from new and old systems, as well as flocculating
magnetite sludges and particulate residues, to
facilitate their easy removal with a Powerflush
machine.

The Sludge and Flux remover is suitable for use with all components. It will not harm
aluminium and requires no neutralisation. This product can remove light rust and
helps descale and soften water.

Why Use a Central Heating System Cleanser?

  • New and existing central heating systems can contain unwanted contamination that affects system performance. New installations can contain flux, installation debris and other residues, while older systems may contain sludge, corrosion products and deposits.

A suitable central heating cleanser helps remove this contamination before the system is placed into service or before further chemical treatment is applied.

Cleaning the system provides an important first step towards maintaining efficient circulation and protecting heating system components.

When Should You Use a Central Heating Inhibitor?

  • New boiler installation

Clean installation debris and flux before commissioning.

    New central heating system

Prepare the system before introducing ongoing chemical protection.

    Boiler replacement

Clean the existing system before connecting the replacement boiler.

    Existing contaminated systems

Use an appropriate cleanser where sludge and deposits need to be removed.

    Before adding inhibitor

Once the system has been appropriately cleaned and refilled, an inhibitor can be added to provide ongoing protection.

Central Heating Cleanser FAQs

What is a central heating cleanser?

A central heating cleanser is a chemical treatment used to remove contamination such as sludge, flux, installation debris and deposits from a heating system.

New installations can contain flux, installation debris and other residues from the installation process. Cleaning helps prepare the system before commissioning and ongoing chemical protection.

Heating system cleanser can help remove sludge, flux, installation debris, light rust, scale and other deposits.

A cleanser is used to remove existing contamination from a heating system. An inhibitor is used to provide ongoing protection against corrosion and deposit formation.

No. A chemical cleanser is a treatment product used to help remove contamination from a heating system. Power flushing is a mechanical cleaning process using specialist equipment, typically used where more intensive system cleaning is required.

Here's some extra Central Heating Solutions:

CLEAN

Power Flushing & System Cleaning

Over time, central heating systems can accumulate sludge, scale, corrosion, flux, oil, grease and other debris. This contamination can restrict circulation, reduce heating performance and contribute to boiler and radiator problems.

Calmag power flushing products are designed to help heating professionals effectively clean contaminated central heating systems and restore circulation.

PROTECT

Central Heating Chemicals & Treatment

Cleaning a heating system is only part of the solution. Once a system has been cleaned, it needs ongoing protection against corrosion, scale and further contamination.

Calmag central heating chemicals and treatment packs are designed to help maintain water quality and protect heating systems, boilers, radiators and pipework.

Discover:

  • Central heating inhibitors
  • System cleaners
  • Heating treatment packs
  • System protection chemicals

FILTER

Central Heating Chemicals & Treatment

Even with chemical protection, heating systems can generate and collect debris. A suitable central heating filter provides an additional layer of protection by capturing unwanted contaminants before they can circulate around the system.

Calmag central heating filters are designed to help protect boilers and heating components by removing debris from the system.

How hard is your water?

If it’s 100ppm or above, a water softener can help you avoid limescale buildup and improve skin and hair health.

* PPM stands for parts per million and indicates the concentration of dissolved limescale minerals like calcium and magnesium in water.
